Annual Meeting to Feature Astronaut Mark Kelly and Political Commentator David Gergen
Astronaut Mark E. Kelly and political commentator David Gergen have been added as speakers to the HASC Annual Meeting, May 8-10, 2013, at St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort, Dana Point.Both join a stellar lineup of confirmed speakers that includes well-known innovation expert Chris Trimble and CHA president C. Duane Dauner.
In a life that exemplifies courage, Kelly has flown four missions to the International Space Station, including the space shuttle Endeavour’s final mission, and is a veteran pilot of 38 combat missions in Desert Storm. He is also the key support for his wife, U.S. Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, as she recovers from an attempted assassination. Kelly writes about perseverance, courage and hope in a new illustrated children’s book, Mousetronaut.
David Gergen has served as a White House adviser to four U.S. presidents (Nixon, Ford, Reagan and Clinton), experiences he documented in his New York Times best-seller, Eyewitness to Power: The Essence of Leadership, Nixon to Clinton. He is also the former chief editor of U.S. News & World Report, a member of the D.C. Bar, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a member of the U.S. executive committee for the Trilateral Commission.
