Healthy Way LA Continues to Enroll in Los Angeles County
Since Healthy Way LA (HWLA) began enrollment July 1, a total of 27,044 new patients have been enrolled during the first 14 weeks, with the highest enrollment during this time period at LAC+USC (2,759 patients).
HWLA is part of the California Health Care Coverage Initiative that seeks to expand health care coverage for individuals (0-133% FPL) in Los Angeles County.
The Los Angeles County Department of Health Services’ (DHS) immediate goal is to enroll all eligible patients within DHS-operated facilities, community partner clinics and the Department of Mental Health (DMH)-operated clinics into the HWLA Matched Program.
Of the 27,044 total patients enrolled, 14,420 chose a DHS facility as their medical home and 12,624 chose a community partner clinic as their medical home.
DHS will continue to work with community partner clinics and DMH to identify and implement best practices that continue the momentum of enrolling all eligible patients into the HWLA program.
