Hospital Leaders, Emergency Staff Invited to Business Continuity Planning Session
The Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services Agency invites hospital CEOs and other C-suite representatives, as well as emergency/risk management staff and IT recovery planners to attend Integrating Business Continuity Planning Into Your Emergency Management Program on Thursday, Sept. 13 in Carson.
The program is part of the federal Hospital Preparedness Program’s Healthcare Preparedness Capabilities: National Guidance for Healthcare System Preparedness. This guidance identifies eight capabilities that serve to guide preparedness strategies and promote prepared and resilient communities.
The Sept. 13 workshop will be facilitated by Wakefield Brunswick and will cover business continuity principles and processes specific to health care organizations. Participants will hear about lessons learned from other health care facilities and will receive tools and materials to assist their own organizations with developing or enhancing business continuity plans.
The morning session is designed for senior hospital leadership. A hospital executive with firsthand experience leading during a crisis will share how to reduce risk and strengthen your hospital’s capacity to continue operations during and after a disaster. Attendance for the morning session (9:00 to 11:30 a.m.) is limited to four persons per facility.
Emergency/risk management and IT staff can attend the entire day. The afternoon session (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) is limited to two persons per facility.
The workshop will take place at Carson Center, 801 E. Carson St. Register by Aug. 29; email ocastro@dhs.lacounty.gov.
