May 14 Webinar Will Focus on Occupational Mix Survey
The Medicare Occupational Mix Survey and Why It’s Important to Get It Right, a webinar scheduled for Tuesday, May 14, 12 to 1 p.m., will teach participants how to prepare for completing the Occupational Mix Survey.
The Medicare Occupational Mix Survey is required by CMS every three years to make adjustments to the Medicare wage index and is required of all hospitals subject to IPPS. The next survey is due July 1, 2014 and will include data for the 12-month period January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013. The current period occupational mix reporting will significantly influence two-thirds of all the payments for PPS hospitals and other types of health care providers for the next several federal fiscal years. With increasing Medicare shortfalls, every hospital needs to make sure their data are up-to-date and accurate.
Participants in the webinar will learn:
- What the Medicare Occupational Mix Survey is meant to do and why it is so important to hospitals in California.
- How much time a hospital should spend preparing the Medicare Occupational Mix Survey, and why this seemingly little survey takes so long to complete.
- The key factors for the complete and accurate preparation of their hospital’s Medicare Occupational Mix Survey and why it is important to get it right.
The one-hour webinar is intended for CFOs, directors of reimbursement and financial analysts. Registration is $95 per connection. CEUs are available—ACHE Type II only.
