Modern Pricing and Transparency Initiative Collaborative to Launch Later This Month
The HASC Modern Pricing and Transparency Initiative (MPTI) Collaborative, set to launch later this month, will provide hospitals with access to outside expertise in the areas of legal, regulatory, reimbursement and operations that hospitals can learn from, and lean on, as they work independently to bring their charges closer to costs and make charges more palatable to consumers.
The MPTI Collaborative will provide peer-to-peer learning opportunities, sharing of best practices, and encouragement to “press on.” There is no cost for the hospitals that participate in the MPTI Collaborative.
Interested hospitals are asked to complete a letter of intent so that HASC can track the number of hospitals implementing Modern Pricing and identify the hospitals that will participate in the HASC MPTI Collaborative. The requested information is critical in our efforts to help motivate health plans, CMS and other stakeholders to implement their portion of Modern Pricing.
The association recently distributed to all member hospitals a copy of HASC’s Modern Pricing Implementation Work Plan for Hospitals, which was developed on the framework of CHA’s Modern Pricing Guidebook. The Work Plan will help hospitals define their objectives for pursuing Modern Pricing and identify necessary resources, potential obstacles and the critical pathways necessary to implement Modern Pricing.
Member hospitals can access the Work Plan, Guidebook, and Letter of Intent here.
