National Health Care Decisions Day is April 16
National Health Care Decisions Day (NHDD), April 16, is a day set aside to inspire, educate, and empower the public and health care providers about the importance of advance care planning. It’s an initiative to encourage patients to express their wishes regarding health care, and for providers and facilities to respect those wishes, whatever they may be.
There is no cost to join this important initiative. There are all sorts of resources for engaging in conversations and for documenting wishes at www.nhdd.org. Visit www.nhdd.org/tools/ for more information on how to help your patients and families become more proactive with their health care decisions. Go to http://www.nhdd.org/join/ to confirm your participation.
On a related note, registration is open for the 5th Annual Palliative Care Conference, presented by HASC and the Inland Empire Palliative Care Coalition. Hear industry experts as they tackle the acceleration of approaches unique to the advancement of palliative care.
