The California Endowment has chosen the National Health Foundation (NHF) to lead the planning efforts for implementing an integrated delivery system (IDS) in South Los Angeles.

Currently, several individual organizations are working to build an IDS in the area. NHF will help design a process that supports the effective integration of essential components across the various developing accountable care organizations (ACOs), having already identified three areas key to coordinating the efforts: measuring quality, assuring electronic connectivity and identifying innovative demonstration projects.

To complete the project, the California Endowment and the Watts Health Foundation have committed approximately $20 million over an 18-month period.
