Nursing Leadership Council Annual Conference Set for Oct. 24
The Nursing Leadership Council’s (NLC) annual conference, focusing on Enhancing the Patient Experience, is set for Monday, Oct. 24 at the California Endowment in Los Angeles.
This one-day program will offer chief nursing officers and others in the field the opportunity to hear about best practices for Enhancing the Patient Experience. Learn about Patient and Family Centered Care as well as proven methods for improving the overall patient experience within the health care setting.
Featured topics and speakers include:
- Welcome and Introductions, Beverly Quaye, Vice President, Care Services, St. Francis Medical Center; President, Nursing Leadership Council
- Finding our Voice: California’s Response to the Future of Nursing Initiative, Pat McFarland, Executive Director, Association of California Nurse Leaders
- Attitude Management – Enhancing the Patient Experience, Lewis Newman, PhD; Sharon Tourville, RN, MSN, NEA-BCz, of Lewis Newman Consulting
Breakout sessions will include Transforming the Patient Experience through the Built Environment with Lorie Shoemaker, Chief Nurse Executive, Palomar Pomerado Health Patient and Family Centered Care and Nora Goto, RN, PMP, CPHQ, MSN, MSHCA, VA Long Beach Healthcare System.
The panel session topic, What’s It Like in the Trenches? Real Life Experiences of Patients and Staff Related to Environmental and Program Model Designs, will be moderated by Kelly Guzman, RN, MN, Executive Director, Transition Planning, HTS, Inc.
Program cost before Oct. 14 is $135 for NLC members, $160 for non-members and $125 for additional colleagues (three or more from the same facility; must register at the same time).
