Orange County Supervisors Approve $2 Million MSI Budget Augmentation
The Orange County Board of Supervisors, on a 4-1 vote, approved a $2 million budget augmentation for the MSI Hospital Pool this week. Hospitals will lose well over $200 million in actual costs in this year’s MSI program. Supervisors Nguyen, Bates, Nelson (Chairman of the Board), and Spitzer voted to support the appropriation; Supervisor Moorlach dissented.
The vote was a straw vote taken during the County’s Budget Hearing. The final vote on the budget is slated for June 25. This was the only Health Care Agency budget augmentation recommended for support by the County Executive Office. HASC advocated in support of the item and testified at the Board Hearing.
