San Bernardino Supervisors Postpone Vote on STEMI, Cardiovascular Receiving Center Fees
The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors postponed voting on proposed STEMI and Cardiovascular Receiving Center fees at the request of HASC and the STEMI receiving center hospitals. Inland Counties Emergency Medical Agency (ICEMA) was requesting a 400 percent fee increase for the STEMI receiving centers’ annual certification fee and proposed this same rate for the new cardiovascular receiving center certification.
The Board of Supervisors is requesting that the fee increase be evaluated, noting that the process for establishing fees should be transparent and in collaboration with the hospitals. HASC and STEMI receiving center hospitals developed questions and recommendations for consideration in the development of the fees at the request of Supervisor Gary Ovitz.
“We welcome the opportunity to work closely with ICEMA and collaborate to ensure our communities are served in a safe and effective manner,” said Christina Bivona-Tellez, HASC regional vice president of the Inland Area.
