Sept. 19 Internal Investigations Seminar to Offer Step-by-Step Advice
Conducting effective internal investigations can be tricky. An upcoming half-day seminar will take you step-by-step through the investigation process, incorporating all the necessary elements of fact-finding best practices.
Presented by HASC as well as the Hospital Council of Northern & Central California for the Northern California session, Sherlock Holmes or Inspector Clouseau: How to Conduct Effective Internal Investigations is a nationally recognized investigations program offering the chance to learn the hands-on, practical skills necessary to conduct an internal investigation into claims of employee misconduct.
Among the key topics to be addressed:
- Ensuring you use the critical claims intake process to identify the issues being alleged, work with a reluctant claimant, gather the material facts presented by the claimant, avoid the pitfalls of a secrecy pact, and create appropriate confirming documentation.
- Understanding the proper use of credibility assessment tools, including assessment of corroborating and circumstantial evidence.
- Drafting a comprehensive investigation report.
Attendees will receive a 120+ page Investigations Workbook detailing the critical facets of the investigations process.
The Southern California seminar will take place Wednesday, Sept. 19 at Moseley-Salvatori Conference Center—Good Samaritan Hospital. The Northern California session will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at The California Endowment, Oakland Conference Center. Program cost is $195 for members, $255 for nonmembers and $185 for additional colleagues.
The seminar will be led by Glen Kraemer, one of the founding
partners of Curiale Hirschfeld Kraemer LLP, who focuses
exclusively on the representation of employers concerning
discrimination and harassment claims, and personnel law
compliance issues.
