Social Media and Privacy Seminar Set for Aug. 14
Are you concerned with the legal and compliance issues presented by social networking and privacy within the hospital setting? Mark your calendar for Social Networking and Privacy within Hospitals, a half-day seminar presented by HASC on Tuesday, Aug. 14 at The California Endowment.
Key topics will include:
- The privacy and security law risks to hospitals from social networking
- The employment law constraints hospitals face when trying to police social networking by their personnel
- Best practices from compliance experts on drafting and enforcing social networking policies
The program will include a Successful Hospital Practices Panel, where pariticpants will learn about successful programs/practices in local hospitals.
The seminar will also explore risks presented by employee use of social media, tools to address and manage risks, and how to avoid unnecessary costs and minimize exposure. Featured speakers include Stephen K. Phillips; Paul A. Deeringer; and Joseph R. LaMagna, all with Hooper, Lundy & Bookman, PC, whose combined experience includes health care regulatory matters, compliance and litigation.
