Nearly 200 people attended the 2013 HASC Palliative Care Conference, Feb. 26 at the Hilton Pasadena. Attended by executives and frontline professionals interested in enhancing communication across the continuum of care, the event presented the latest information and best practices from leaders in the industry.

Featured speakers included international and local experts in supportive care, including Dr. Richard Brumley, GeriNet; Dr. Robert Bear; Pat Forman, The Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare; Dr. Mark Livingston, CareRX; Dr. Mark Leenay, OptumHealth; and Dr. Glen Komatsu, Center for Palliative Care, Little Company of Mary Hospital – Torrance. Several stellar panelists were also on hand to host an open forum for attendees. Panelists included Pat Blaisdell, California Hospital Association; Libby Hoy, Patient Family Centered Care Partners; and Norina Nillas, CareMore. Steve Nahm, Companion Management Group, also participated.
