HASC Launches New Program to Improve Quality, Lower Costs for Hospitals
The new Case Management Transformation Initiative (CMTI), powered by Marsh, is a fee-for-service program that gives hospitals tools to transform their case management services into an outcomes-based, physician-centric program.
CMTI was developed to meet the demands of today’s evolving health care environment–including the increased call for transparency, quality measurements and quality-based reimbursements under health care reform. With that in mind, CMTI helps hospitals develop a results-based case management program; engage physicians and case managers for more effective care coordination; improve patient outcomes and quality performance; and ensure accurate reimbursements with an improved documentation process.
“With compelling data, practical physician engagement tools, and key benchmarking strategies, CMTI provides solutions that drive better outcomes and reduce costs. It takes hospitals to the next level,” said John Calderone, Ph.D., CEO, Olympia Medical Center.
The program’s fee includes:
- Small, collaborative learning sessions
- Review of baseline and peer data measurements
- A case management program gap analysis and assessment
- Representation on specialized CMTI work teams
- Onsite consulting
- Educational web conferences to answer questions, provide direction and maintain momentum
- Easy-to-use online dashboard to measure success
- Post-program assessments and tests that measure progress
- Continuing education hours for some in-person meeting attendees
Each nine-month program is limited to 20 hospitals. The inaugural program is set to begin in April. To secure participation, complete a participation agreement available from Catherine Carson at (213) 538-0789.
