HASC Presents Program on 2011 Human Resources Issues
More than 60 human resource professionals attended 2011 HR Issues – Are You Ready? at the Hilton Pasadena on Jan. 26. This one-day program addressed national and state labor union trends, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) regulatory climate, social networking in the workplace, and health assessments and wellness incentives. HR practitioners from local hospitals showcased their best practices, explaining what has worked for them and what has not.
The featured speaker was Mori Rubin, who serves as Deputy Regional Attorney of the Agency’s Region 31 Regional Office in Los Angeles. She assists Regional Director, James McDermott in the administration and enforcement of the National Labor Relations Act in Los Angeles and six other counties in Southern California. Rubin provided information on recent NLRB decisions and important issues for health care employers.
Other program presenters included Roger King, JD, a partner with Jones Day and a member of the firm’s national health care labor practice team; Chris Scanlan, JD, with the Jones Day San Francisco office; Deborah Saxe, JD, a partner with Jones Day and a member of the firm’s national health care labor practice team; Lisa Foust, MPH, senior vice president, Human Resources, Citrus Valley Health Partners; Laura Greene, senior compensation analyst, City of Hope Medical Center; and Brenda Turner, chief human resources officer, Palomar Pomerado Health.
