Human Trafficking: Health Care’s Response to a Growing Issue
Description
Scheduled for Thursday, April 26, participants will walk away understanding what human trafficking means, what common red flags are seen in the healthcare setting, and how to respond using victim-centered, trauma-informed approach. The program includes an interactive lecture, survivor story, review of evidence-based victim response procedures, and group discussion using case scenarios.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Describe the problem and misconceptions associated with human trafficking.
- Understand how hospitals can recognize human-trafficked victims and react by using a victim-centered, trauma-informed response.
- Identify how to use community resources and other effective responses to human trafficking.
