Workplace wellness researcher Shawn Achor is booked as a speaker for the 2018 HASC Annual Meeting at Carlsbad. Also in this issue of HASC Briefs, the association welcomes CEO Judith Maass to Olive View – UCLA Medical Center and the physician organization CAPG welcomes HASC members to its June conference in San Diego.

HASC Welcomes CEO

Judith Maass, RN, NP, is CEO at Olive View – UCLA Medical Center. She has more than 20 years of executive health care leadership experience. Maass has held multiple roles, including director of clinical process improvement and quality; service line director for cardiac, critical care and outpatient services; chief nursing officer; and chief operations officer.

Leadership & Charge Nurse Training Has Two Dates, Locations in August

Leadership & Charge Nurse: Creating a Culture of Safety is a training curse that begins with a review of key concepts taught in Charge Nursing: Leading From the Middle, with an expanded focus on helping charge nurses improve customer service, Continuous Survey Readiness (CRS) and response to critical events. The course also discusses the key roles of the charge nurse in developing a “Just Culture” within the unit, including hourly rounding, debriefing, simulations, and effective communication and feedback.

CAPG Invites Members to Attend 2017 Annual Conference

CAPG cordially invites HASC members to attend the 2017 CAPG Annual Conference on June 22-24 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego. 

The educational theme for the conference is From Volume to Value in the New World Order: What Now? Industry leaders agree that, regardless of the “repeal and replace” movement, alternative payment models are the key to improving health care quality and controlling spiraling costs. CAPG is working to ensure the move towards value continues.
