$113M Lithium Battery Settlement Deadline Is Three Days Away
HASC Endorsed Business Partner MCAG today reminds members that a $113 million lithium ion batteries settlement deadline occurs this Friday, July 19. Qualified organizations that enroll with MCAG over the next few days will be eligible for cash payouts from the settlement.
All organizations that purchased laptop computers, tablets and mobile phones between Jan. 1, 2000 and May 31, 2011 are eligible upon enrollment.
HASC Endorsed Business Partner MCAG recently distributed recoveries of $3.6 million to 45 member hospitals from the California Cipro Cases I & II Settlements. Members who have not yet taken advantage of MCAG’s settlement recovery service are urged to enroll before this deadline so they don’t miss out on this revenue recovery opportunity. Very little time and effort is required to activate MCAG to recover money from this settlement on your behalf.
The enrollment process is fast, easy, and has no upfront fees. HASC Members enroll in the service directly with MCAG and receive a discounted contingency fee of 20 percent, versus MCAG’s standard fee of 25 percent.
No action is required of member hospitals who already enrolled with MCAG. You may contact MCAG to ensure that they have an up-to-date contact within your organization and any information needed to complete your claim filings.
“The filing deadline for this settlement is approaching fast so it’s crucial for members who have not yet enrolled to stake their claim,” said Adam Schmidt, Vice President of Affinity Group Relations at MCAG. “We’re also monitoring the $6.2 billion Payment Card Interchange Fee Settlement, also known as the Visa/Mastercard Settlement, which reimburses hospitals for the fees they paid for accepting Visa or MasterCard payments from customers in the U.S. anytime from Jan. 1, 2004 – Jan. 25, 2019. The deadline for this settlement has not yet been determined but now is a good time to work with us to make sure your organization is part of this landmark case.”
By virtue of servicing over 150,000 business locations and through its partnerships with payment processing companies, MCAG manages a procurement database that allows them to build claims and negotiate maximum returns to clients — even in cases where only limited information is available.
