Annual Meeting Speakers Are More Than Brilliant
Epidemiologist Larry Brilliant, MD (left) will join philanthropist Leon Logothetis in headlining HASC’s 2021 Virtual Annual Meeting.
Themed Better Together, HASC’s 2021 Virtual Annual Meeting will take place April 29-30 via an online platform to protect the health of all.
Because of sponsor support, HASC is able to offer the low registration fee of $150 for early bird registration, and $195 after Feb. 1. Act now to register here.
Our 2021 opening speaker is Larry Brilliant, MD, epidemiologist, philanthropist and author best known for his work with the World Health Organization, helping eradicate smallpox in the early 1970s. His talk will be followed by a member panel exploring our recent pandemic experience and how the industry will recover and prepare for the future. Brilliant is the author of Sometimes Brilliant: The Impossible Adventure of a Spiritual Seeker and Visionary Physician Who Helped Conquer the Worst Disease in History. He has a notable Ted Talk with more than 1.8 million views, and spoke at our Annual Meeting in 2007.
Our closing speaker is Leon Logothetis, an adventurer and philanthropist who focuses on effecting positive change on a person-to-person level. As host of the Netflix series, The Kindness Diaries, Logothetis travels the globe on his vintage yellow motorbike, “Kindness One,” offering life-changing gifts to people he meets.
Breakout topics under development for April’s event include behavioral medicine, cyber issues and financial recovery from COVID — among other topics. One breakout session will qualify for ACHE Face-to-Face credit.
