Rathi Ramasamy is HASC’s James D. Barber Administrative Fellow. Her one-year term began June 26. In this role, Ramasamy will explore diverse facets of the health care field, including policy, advocacy, media relations, program management, issue research and more.

Ramasamy recently earned a master’s in public health with a concentration in health policy and management from UCLA. Her studies included an internship at The Children’s Partnership, where she worked on children’s advocacy projects in mental health, health coverage and oral health care delivery through Federally Qualified Health Centers.

Ramasamy acknowledged the unique opportunity the fellowship provides. “The fellowship will allow me to gain an in-depth perspective on health policy and the health care industry in Southern California,” she said. “I’m excited to meet and learn from some of the most experienced leaders in this field.”
