Care Can’t Wait Campaign Tackles Critical Issue
CHA, HASC and the other Regional Associations have developed a video, toolkit and other messaging to assure the public that hospitals are safe and that delaying care can have serious consequences. The updated Care Can’t Wait campaign incorporates results from the latest online poll (July 2020), as well as a social media toolkit with a variety of mix-and-match social posts and graphics that can help your facility or system communicate these important messages.
Across the country, multiple studies have documented the phenomena of fear-induced care avoidance due to COVID-19. A Washington Post analysis of federal data published last month, for example, found thousands more people died in March, April and May of heart disease and a handful of other diseases than would have occurred with normal rates.
Resources released this month include a co-branded Care Can’t Wait public service announcement and an Our Health California educational video that addresses the same issues.
HASC and the other Associations are offering the first video to county public health departments, and it will be amplified on social channels. The latter video is being promoted through a statewide paid media program.
