HASC and C3 Skills Alliance this week announce up to $200,000 in grant funding for programs that train incumbent nurses, social workers and other staff in care coordination. An additional $200,000 is allocated to train new workers, from which employers in Los Angeles and Ventura counties only will be able to hire qualified applicants.

Funding was provided by the California Workforce Development Board to assist industries across the State in maintaining a skilled workforce. As a member of the Alliance, HASC has worked collaboratively with workforce boards, community clinics and post-secondary educators to bring training resources such as these to our region.

• The Training Interest Form will help us determine each of your training needs. 
• A list of the Care Coordination Training Programs gives a summary description of the care coordination training programs available for new and incumbent workers. Trainees have up to six months to complete online courses.
• Guidelines for the Employer Contribution for Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) provides guidelines on the use of grant funds to pay for the cost of incumbent worker training. The guidelines include examples for calculating a cash or in-kind match, which, in most cases, will require little or no cost to your company.

Time is short — only 10 days remain to enroll in training.
