Care for Transgender Patients Course Is Nov. 7
Providers deliver effective care when addressing patient populations sensitively. Dr. Kristie Overstreet’s dignity-first approach empowers health care professionals to serve transgender and related patients in the most effective and appropriate manner.
In the half-day course, Overstreet (below) covers her eight-unit Dignity Model through a combination of lecture and interaction. The result is a workforce that brings increased comfort and knowledge to this patient group.
Training designed to serve this segment is a fast-growing class of health care education. Ensure space for your team by registering now for the Thursday, Nov. 7 session at Good Samaritan Hospital, Los Angeles.
Students enrolled in the half-day course receive instruction on inclusive intake, use of pronouns, social and medical transition, gender dysphoria and other sensitivities and needs. Learn more by downloading a course brochure or visiting HASC’s program web page.
The course is approved for four California Board of Registered Nursing contact hours and four hours of ACHE Qualified Education credit. HRCI® pre-approval is pending.
Tuition runs $250 per HASC registrant. The non-acute-care stakeholder rate is $275.
