Charge Nurse Course Is Offered This Friday
Critical thinking is central to effective task management and decision making in high-risk situations. The class reviews how active assessment and analysis of information can help improve quality of thinking and discusses the key principles and barriers to thinking critically. The course also covers the application of critical thinking through nursing processes to help staff arrive at appropriate decisions and conclusions.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Define critical thinking.
- Express insight into analyzing, reasoning and evaluating problems.
- Explain intellectual standards.
- Recognize the barriers to the application of critical thinking in nursing.
- Identify the application of critical thinking in nursing practice.
- Discuss the feeling, vision and examination models.
During the session, Mark Kaliher – one of HASC’s most requested instructors – will help nurse leaders take complicated concepts and make them easier to understand. His experience as a charge nurse, combined with humor and a passion for nursing, make this course an enjoyable learning experience.
