Collective EDie Joins Homelessness Care Plan in Orange County
Health professionals attended a recent session on how the Collective EDie data tool can coordinate care for homeless individuals. The meeting took place at Orange County Medical Association’s offices in Newport Beach.

On April 4, the CalOptima Board of Directors approved a $10 million allocation to offset hospital cost for implementation of SB 1152 homeless discharge procedures. Beginning July 1, hospitals will receive a 2 percent increase for all Medi-Cal FFS inpatients. The increase, however, is contingent on hospitals participating in “data-sharing technology” for individuals experiencing homelessness.
In response, on April 18 HASC facilitated a demonstration of the Collective EDie data-sharing platform developed by Collective Medical Technologies – a HASC Endorsed Business Partner. The purpose of the demonstration was to review Collective EDie’s capability to create a homeless log as required under SB 1152, and to expedite discharge by tailoring specific information, such as recuperative care referrals, to the Illumination Foundation.
In addition to the 50-plus hospital members in attendance, CalOptima and the County of Orange attended to evaluate how the Whole Person Connect system might integrate with the new platform.
