Communities Lifting Communities Initiative Takes Aim at Health Disparities
HASC with HC2 Strategies, Inc. and the Public Health Alliance of Southern California will launch Communities Lifting Communities, a partnership intended to reduce health disparities and improve community health across Southern California, on Friday, June 16.
The kick-off meeting will take place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Metro Headquarters Building opposite Union Station in downtown Los Angeles. The meeting aims to bring together health care leaders to align collective goals and identify key intersections to help the initiative effect positive change.
HASC member CEOs, community benefit directors and public health officers, all vital partners in making the initiative a success, are invited to attend.
Communities Lifting Communities, or CLC, provides an opportunity for health care stakeholders to deliver significant improvements on the health disparities affecting the communities they serve.
“The kick-off meeting will be an exciting moment as we light the spark intended to improve the health of Southern California’s most vulnerable populations,” said Mark Gamble, Senior VP/COO with HASC.
CLC will support existing and future collaborative Community Health Needs Assessments (CHNAs) with regional clusters of hospitals, public health departments and other community partners. Beyond completion of the assessment, these coalitions will help prioritize and implement focused initiatives to significantly improve health conditions for residents and communities across the region.
HASC Briefs will present regular updates on CLC’s meeting schedule and on the coalition’s progress towards its goal of improved community health across Southern California.
