Consider Hosting a CDIP Intern –
Benefits Abound for Your Facility
HASC College to Career Diversity Internship Program (CDIP) is a 10-week summer internship, in partnership with Health Career Connection (HCC) and is designed to collectively accelerate diversity and achieve equity in health care by exposing talented, diverse college students to instructive, rigorous and meaningful projects important to your hospital.
Last summer, six hospitals and one associate member hosted 12 interns in various departments, such as: case management, finance/business, hospital administration, quality, laboratory science and nursing (NICU) services. Following the internship assignments, we are happy to report that three interns were hired – two at City of Hope and one at Adventist Health White Memorial!
Below are testimonies from a preceptor and an intern on how CDIP can bring positive change to a hospital.
“Our CDIP intern, Han, completed her project and went above and beyond the scope of that project. She also helped with the Baby Friendly survey, presented at the GEMBA board multiple times and helped us promote NICU policies.” –Peggy Schaefer, MS, CDIP Preceptor at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital.
“CDIP allowed me to learn from leading experts in hospital administration. I was able to see how administrators interact with providers to enhance patient care and the workplace. This internship has motivated me to continue my journey to medical school and to become a well-rounded physician.” –Samuel Castro, CDIP Intern at City of Hope.
We are now recruiting hospitals for the 2020 program! To host a CDIP intern, please complete the Summer Internship Host Interest Form and notify HASC Workforce Development Program Manager Lisa Mitchell of your interest (see below).
