Enroll Your Nursing Staff to APU’s RN Perioperative Course This Fall
The Hospital Association of Southern California (HASC) announces that Azusa Pacific University (APU) is offering two perioperative RN specialty courses in fall 2019. The APU RN specialty courses are available for any hospital in the region to prepare experienced RNs transferring to a new position in perioperative nursing at their hospital.
This 16-week course will provide basic didactic perioperative education that will give the novice OR nurse the rationale and theory needed to provide safe patient care, used in conjunction with a clinical preceptorship. Both courses will run on the same dates in different host hospitals – in Los Angeles at the Methodist Hospital of Southern California, and in the Inland Empire at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
Course includes:
- Online and face-to-face learning from an experienced OR nurse educator
- All course modules and texts
- Preceptored clinical experience
- 58 BRN-approved contact hours of CE credit + 41.7 contact hours from AORN for completion of Periop 101: A Core Curriculum™
- Required background check and health status tracker completion
- 1-year membership in AORN
