Equity in Care Course Offered Dec. 3

You’re invited to join Advancing Health Equity: Pathways for Hospitals to Improve Health from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3. 

The session covers foundational concepts central to advancing health equity across organizations and communities served. It will also present an in-depth survey of the difference between equity and equality in a health care setting, the root causes of health inequities and impact of implicit bias and racism on health outcomes.

The workshop is presented by HASC and Communities Lifting Communities and is led by the Public Health Alliance of Southern California, which develops and facilitates health equity trainings for a wide variety of public health, health care, government and private entities.
Alliance trainings pay special attention to issues like social determinants of health, water and food equity, power building for health, climate equity, and closing the gap in maternal and infant mortality.

Executive leadership, directors and managers who oversee staff, human resources, employee relations, community benefit/population health and quality improvement managers are especially encouraged to attend.
