A select group of California health care leaders attended an American Hospital Association (AHA) forum on value-based care in downtown Los Angeles on Sept. 20. The event was co-hosted by HASC.
Convening at the Jonathan Club, the group heard from a dozen experts —who contributed ideas on delivering affordable, high-quality care for patients and communities. Sessions include presentations by AHA leadership, a leading health system’s story of its challenges and successes in improving health care affordability, and discussions led by other health care peers, including HASC President/CEO George W. Greene.
HASC’s George W. Greene reviewed care models at work in Santa Barbara, Los Angeles and Orange counties — and across the region at Kaiser Permanente facilities.
“There is no single, correct model of value-based care that fits all situations and populations,” Greene told the group. “There are numerous care models underway throughout the HASC region.”
Greene listed innovations at Santa Barbara County’s Cottage Health and at Orange County-based Memorial Care.
Also delivering remarks were California Hospital Association President/CEO Carmela S. Coyle and California hospital leaders Richard Afable, MD, and Tom Priselac.
