HASC Signs AHA Equity
Pledge, Members Invited to Follow
Launched in 2015, AHA’s #123forEquity Pledge to Act to Eliminate Health Care Disparities urges hospital and health system leaders to support access across socioeconomic lines by examining race, ethnicity and language preference data, advancing cultural competency training, and increasing leadership diversity. The initiative also aims to improve and strengthen community capacity.
To eliminate health disparities, increase quality of care and improve diversity and inclusion efforts in health care, AHA is asking hospitals to make efforts to eliminate disparities a priority.
HASC’s Board of Directors endorsed the pledge at its June 14 meeting, joining CHA, Hospital Council of Northern and Central California and Hospital Association of San Diego and Imperial Counties in the move. Only 73 of California’s more than 400 hospitals and health systems, however, had endorsed the pledge as of last summer.
AHA asks you to consider signing today. To do so, please print, fill out, scan and email this attached form or add your organization online by clicking here.
