HealthCareerCenter.com Offers a Hand With Recruiting Challenges
In the evolving health care field, recruiters face an uphill battle. While tapping a talent pool that’s shrinking as demand grows, they’re also under pressure to develop and implement new hiring strategies with increased emphasis on cultural fit and reduced turnover. For these reasons, many hiring managers have elected to work with HealthCareerCenter.com, the health care jobs site offered by the American Hospital Association — in partnership with HASC.
A recent survey of hiring managers revealed the following issues challenging recruiters this year.
- Recruiters have more roles to fill. Over half of surveyed recruiters reported that they have been tasked with filling an increased number of jobs in 2017 than in years past.
- Turnover has become recruiters’ most important metric. Hospitals and other organizations are realizing just how painful frequent employee turnover can be for their bottom lines, and are taking steps to ensure that the people they hire will stick around.
- Recruiters value cultural fit more than ever. High performance capabilities and a disdain for job-hopping aren’t the start and finish of hiring managers’ checklists. When recruiters select employees who don’t uphold their organization’s values, it can undermine everything the organization stands for.
- Behavioral assessments and recruiting tools are under a microscope. Unfortunately, at the same time, budgets are staying the same as in the past, or even getting smaller. Recruiters are tasked with researching every available solution and ensuring that the best ones are implemented flawlessly, all on a shoestring budget.
