Respect, Reliability, and Resilience is the theme of the 2018 Hospital Quality Institute Conference — taking place Oct. 28-30 in Huntington Beach. Space for the event remains and enrollment is open. 

Presenters include Jim Bagian — an anesthesiologist, engineer and former NASA astronaut — with a keynote on sustaining a culture of patient safety. Also scheduled are former NASA astronaut Yvonne Cagle, MD, HASC President/CEO George W. Greene, and HQI VP Julia Slininger.

Additional speakers and topics include Maurice Garcia, MD, of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on care for LGBTQ patients and Hannah Snyder, MD, of UCSF at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital on America’s continuing opioid epidemic. Vivek Murthy, MD, former U.S. Surgeon General, is also scheduled to present.
