Keynote speaker Jeff Goldsmith, and health care futurist, will challenge assumptions about moving towards a shared-risk model and payment reform. He’ll take a look at changed economic realities evolving from the new administration in Washington, D.C. and offer a view of the future of health care. Following the keynote, Goldsmith will moderate a panel discussion, Rx for Success: Finding New Paths Forward.
Four diverse health care experts representing the delegated model, a health plan, a major medical center and a hospital system, will also present their perspectives on moving forward to deliver high quality, accessible and value-based care:

C. Duane Dauner, CHA President & CEO, will offer the most recent insight on the direction of public policy and what to expect from Washington D.C. and Sacramento.
- Changing the Game
Bennet Omalu, MD, Chief Medical Examiner for San Joaquin County,
and Tom
Farrey of the Aspen Institute Sports & Society Program (and
longtime ESPN investigative sports reporter), will collaborate on
a unique presentation and discussion. Farrey will interview Omalu
on his discovery of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) among
NFL players in 2002. We’ll also hear Omalu’s personal story and
discussion on how the disease affects his work in youth sports
and the NFL. Omalu is the figure behind the 2015 film,
Concussion, featuring Will Smith.
