June Roundtable Focuses on Workplace Violence Compliance for Behavioral Health Facilities
Join us for a free regional roundtable on workplace violence prevention on Monday, June 12. Professionals who work at psychiatric hospitals and hospitals with psychiatric units that are involved in workplace violence prevention programs are invited to attend.
All hospitals and health systems should evaluate their current safety and security plans to determine if action is required to comply with new and pending Cal/OSHA health care workplace violence prevention regulations. As of April 1, hospitals are now required to record workplace violence incidents. By July 1, they will be required to report workplace violence incidents to Cal/OSHA and implement all remaining elements of the regulations by April 1, 2018. Important considerations for facility compliance include training obligations, patient assessments, interdisciplinary communication and record-keeping.
The facilitated roundtable will include a brief overview of the regulations, with the majority of time made available to share progress participants’ organizations have made to comply with current record-keeping mandates as well as prepare for the July 1 and April 2018 requirements and strategize on overcoming challenges.
The event takes place from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, June 12 at HASC’s downtown Los Angeles offices. The address is 515 S. Figueroa St., Suite 1300. See the attached, faxable pdf document for more information. You may also click here to register.
There is no charge to attend this event. Fax RSVP to (213) 482-8537, or register online.
