MCAG Polyurethane Foam Settlement Expected Soon, Other Opportunities Exist Now
HASC and Managed Care Advisory Group (MCAG) are pleased to report that the Polyurethane Foam Settlement should be paid out to eligible hospitals in the state of California late in the 4th Quarter of 2017.
This is dependent upon the court’s timely release of the funds. More than 140 hospitals in the state of California have enrolled in the Settlement Recovery Service with MCAG since January 2016. The Polyurethane Foam Settlement was the first opportunity for HASC members to enroll in this service and roughly 30 hospitals will be receiving payment for this particular settlement.
Hospitals that enrolled in the service since the initial offering could have as many as six outstanding settlement payments due over the next 18 months.
Multiple settlement opportunities are now open, including a Lithium Ion Battery Settlement ($64 million, deadline Nov. 29), LIBOR OTC Manipulation Settlements ($250 million), Foreign Exchange Instrument Settlement ($2.3 billion), Automotive Parts Settlement ($604 million), Menactra (Sanofi) Pediatric Vaccine Settlement ($61.5 million), and Blood Reagent Antitrust Litigation ($22 million).
To enroll with MCAG, visit the firm’s HASC member webpage, and click on “enroll now.” With any questions, please contact Kimberly Johnson, HASC’s Director of Association Services.
