MCAG Settlement Deadlines Are Extended
HASC, with its strategic partner, Managed Care Advisory Group (MCAG), offers a class action settlement recovery service with no up-front cost to members. MCAG has distributed more than $300 million to thousands of customers via the service. The first round of payments to enrolled hospitals is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2017 (depending on date of enrollment).
If you are one of the 100-plus member hospitals already enrolled, you do not need to sign the attached agreement or sign up on the website. MCAG will continue to file claims on behalf of your organization.
Current settlement opportunities include:
- Optical Disk Drive Products Settlement (ODD) — $180 million. Extended deadline: Oct. 30, 2017. Hospitals that purchased desktop or laptop computers between April 1, 2003 and Dec. 31, 2008 are eligible to receive funds from this settlement.
- Lithium Ion Battery Settlement — $64 million. Extended deadline: Nov. 29, 2017. Hospitals and businesses that purchased lithium ion battery products including, but not limited to, laptops, notebook and tablet computers and mobile phones purchased for employees can receive cash from the settlement.
- Blood Reagent Antitrust Litigation — $22 million. Any hospital that purchased blood reagents directly from Ortho or Immucore from Nov. 2000 to Oct. 2015 is eligible to receive funds.
- Menactra (Sanofi vaccine) Antitrust Settlement — $61.5 million. Deadline: TBD. All persons or entities in the United States and its territories that purchase Menactra directly from defendant Sanofi Pasteur Inc. (“Sanofi”) or any of its divisions, subsidiaries, predecessors or affiliates, such as VaxServe, Inc., during the period from March 1, 2010 through and including Dec. 31, 2014 may be eligible to receive cash recoveries.
