HASC is pleased to announce that it has recovered more than $3.5 million on behalf of 45 member hospitals through the California Cipro Cases I & II settlements. The settlements reimburse hospitals for excessive prices paid for the drug Cipro (ciprofloxacin). HASC has partnered with MCAG, one of the nation’s largest providers of settlement recovery services, to ensure that member hospitals recover their share from applicable class action settlements.
Since the inception of HASC’s partnership with MCAG in 2015, over 115 member hospitals have enrolled in the service to capitalize on settlement opportunities.
HASC is bringing value to its members in innovative ways, and this service is one example. Little time and effort are required to activate MCAG to recover money from these settlements. This allows hospitals to acquire additional revenue while focusing on their core business.
Signing up with MCAG is easy:
- Click here to visit MCAG’s website for HASC members
- Or visit settlements.mcaginc.com, and enter code HASC12
- Click the “Enroll Now” button in the center of the page
- Enter in your business information and wait for your enrollment confirmation
The enrollment process is free, fast and easy — and requires no fee to join. HASC members receive a discount contingency fee of 20 percent, versus MCAG’s standard fee of 25 percent. If unsure regarding your organization’s sign-up status, please contact MCAG.
Current Open Settlement Opportunities:
There are several settlements, such as Optical Disk Drive and Lithium Ion Batteries, currently available to member hospitals for which detail can be found by visiting MCAG’s website for HASC members.
The Court granted preliminary approval of the Visa/MasterCard $5.5 billion Settlement.
- The framework for the Settlement is in place and a notice will be mailed by the Settlement Administrator in late April to all entities who accepted Visa or MasterCard in the U.S. from 2004-2018.
- Returns could be significant because over 150 of the largest merchants, such as Walmart, Delta Airlines, American Airlines, and Google have already been compensated by the Defendants and are not eligible to be paid from the $5 billion in settlement funds.
- Member hospitals enrolled with MCAG can contact MCAG to ensure that they have an up to date list of merchant locations and merchant IDs. Once this information is sent to MCAG, no further action will be required as MCAG will handle the remainder of the claims process.
Via partnerships with dozens of payment processing companies, MCAG has access to a vast data set that will be used to supplement claims. This includes current and historical data for millions of merchants.
Sincerely,
Hospital Association of Southern California and MCAG Settlement Recovery Service Team
