A celebration of life for former St. Joseph Hospital of Orange CEO Steve Moreau is set for 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 29 at the Masimo building, 52 Discovery in Irvine.

Following a long career in health care, including service on the HASC Board and numerous committee leadership roles, Moreau succumbed to a four-month battle with pancreatic cancer on July 7. He was 65.

Moreau launched his health care career as a microbiologist and advanced to lab supervisor. This led to his first CEO job — at an acute rehabilitation hospital in Bakersfield. He stepped into the CEO role at St. Joseph in 2010 following the retirement of Larry Ainsworth, who he considered a mentor.

Moreau is survived by his wife of 44 years, Anne (Viafora) Moreau, and by three children, three grandchildren and four siblings.
