HASC welcomed 2019 Board Chair Margaret Peterson, PhD, this past weekend at the annual board installation dinner.

Peterson serves as president of Dignity Health’s California Hospital Medical Center, a 318-bed acute care hospital located in Downtown Los Angeles and one of the busiest private trauma centers in the county. She is also active in a number of organizations supporting the Downtown L.A. community, including serving as a member of the Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services Commission.

Prior to joining California Hospital, Dr. Peterson served as chief executive officer at Desert Valley Hospital and Desert Valley Medical Group in Victorville. She began her career as a registered nurse after earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Columbia Union College in Maryland. Peterson went on to earn a master’s in cardiovascular nursing from The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C., and a PhD in administration from Miami University in Ohio.

This important ceremonial dinner has become an important annual HASC tradition and an opportunity to recognize past and future hospital leadership.
