President’s Message From George W. Greene
Dear health care leader,
I hope you are all safe and healthy as we approach the most challenging time of this pandemic — the surge. Last week we observed World Health Day (April 7) and I want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible courage and commitment of all of our health care workers on the front lines. HASC is here with you every step of the way – please know you can call on us any time during this global crisis.
We understand that you’re receiving an overwhelming number of messages, so HASC is limiting its outgoing communications. However, I want to reach out to thank you for your tireless efforts and keep you abreast of response efforts in the HASC region.
Since there’s more than I can quickly summarize, I want to share an attached executive summary of HASC’s efforts to date during the pandemic. (It’s also attached below.) After transitioning to offsite locations, we’ve completed some timely and important work in support of your operations — and the state’s general response effort.
I’d also like to share a recorded briefing on the HASC region’s coordinated response to the virus. COVID-19 So Cal Focus: Dealing With Shortage of Hospital Beds, Supplies & Staff offers a detailed look at hospital preparedness, challenges and pandemic outlook for the region. The briefing was recorded last week, organized by the Los Angeles World Affairs Council & Town Hall. You can view it here.
Lastly, the pandemic will have long-lasting effects on this nation and our health care system. HASC has a rich history of supporting our members during times of need – this is when our assistance is most critical. I encourage you to contact me personally or any one of our team members if you are experiencing any obstacles to your work in these trying times.
Thank you for your continued commitment to caring. Please stay safe and healthy.
George G.
