Report on Perioperative RN Training Released
HASC is pleased to release its Perioperative Specialty RN Training Pilot Project Final Report – the newest independent research produced by the association.
The report describes HASC’s response to the growing demand and short supply of perioperative RNs. In partnership with HealthImpact – the state nursing workforce center, and with funding from the South Bay Workforce Investment Board, the pilot spanned the summer and fall of 2018 – aimed at filling critical vacancies in hospitals while supporting the professional development of incumbent nurses.
Two universities and eight hospitals participated in the project that successfully trained 17 perioperative nurses from eight area hospitals. Learning outcomes from the pilot will be used to refine and enhance the training model to support the regional expansion and application across the region.
We eagerly invite you to read and use the attached report. Please find it below.
