RN Perioperative Course Enrollment Is Open
As part of HASC’s workforce initiative, Azusa Pacific University, or APU, offers two perioperative RN specialty courses this spring. The APU RN Specialty courses are available for any hospital in the region to prepare RNs transferring to a new position in perioperative nursing at their hospital.
The 16-week courses provide perioperative training that gives the novice OR nurse the knowledge needed to provide safe patient care – with the practical training of a clinical preceptorship. Both courses run on the same dates in different host hospitals – in Los Angeles at the Methodist Hospital of Southern California, and in the Inland Empire at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
Course includes:
- Online and face-to-face learning from an experienced OR nurse educator
- All course modules and texts
- Preceptored clinical experience
- 58 BRN-approved contact hours of CE credit + 41.7 contact hours from AORN for completion of Periop 101: A Core Curriculum™
- Required background check and health status tracker completion (additional fee for CastleBranch)
- 1-year membership in AORN
