Seminar Provides Overview of
Nurse Intervention, Diversion Program
Registered nurses and other health care professionals are not
immune to the diseases of substance use disorder or mental
illness. This five-hour seminar, offered Monday, April 10 in Los
Angeles and Tuesday, April 11 in the Inland Empire, is designed
to provide hospitals with critical information on the Board of
Registered Nursing and Healthcare Professionals’ Intervention
Program and Diversion Program.
The seminar will feature Virginia Matthews, project manager for
MAXIMUS, the board’s administrative vendor, and Gina Skinner, BRN
intervention program analyst, who will explain the roles and
responsibilities of the diversion program. The seminar will also
address the stigma of drug addiction, diversion program
controversies and will present data on the effectiveness of the
diversion program.
