TeamSTEPPS Holds Inland Empire Session
The Inland Empire TeamSTEPPS Collaborative met Dec. 5 at the Marriott Riverside. The session included close to 40 participants representing 10 hospitals and seven centers of health care education.
Some participants experienced their first introduction to TeamSTEPPS, while others, having attended previously, described their progress in adopting the program’s team-building strategies.
Physician champions Mark Comunale of Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, James Pappas of Loma Linda University Medical Center and David Ninan of Riverside University Health System Medical Center attended and shared their experiences incorporating TeamSTEPPS strategies at their teaching hospitals.
Funded in part by the Inland Empire Health Plan, the collaborative will continue to meet and discuss how to include material from the TeamSTEPPS curriculum into medical and nursing education programs throughout the Inland Empire.
