Telehealth Services Offered During Pandemic
Telehealth has come into its own during the COVID-19 pandemic, as increased demand and satisfaction have led to broader adoption across the industry. Studies show that nearly 25 percent of American adults have used telehealth, and that figure is climbing. Vituity, a leader in providing acute care management, health care, and medical staffing services and solutions, was ahead of this curve and developed a full suite of telehealth solutions that have proven invaluable to hospitals and health care facilities. Vituity is an Endorsed Business Partner for telehealth services to our membership.
During this public health crisis, when access to hospitals has been limited, Vituity’s telehealth services help bridge the care gaps between providers and patients. With telehealth, there is decreased need for constrained supplies of PPE, the ability to utilize remote or quarantined providers to deliver safe and effective care, a reduction in the surge of patient arrivals to triage, and the opportunity for faster re-evaluation of dischargeable/stable-presumed and COVID-19 patients while in the emergency department.
In addition, Vituity has been able to leverage telehealth during this crisis to extend the reach of its physicians. Using telehealth, Vituity physicians can:
- See Urgent Care patients remotely or via curbside virtual visits.
- Conduct tele-rounding where there are hospitals experiencing surge, or to create efficiencies in covering multiple units.
- Do tele-rounding with a hospital-at-home model, e.g., admitting patients to home vs. at the hospital. One health system program has created a virtual capacity of 1,000 beds to care for these patients in collaboration with nursing and home health.
- Conduct tele-RME for triaging in emergency departments.
