Alan Weil How Good is Our Triple Aim? Alan Weil is Editor-in-Chief of Health Affairs, the nation’s leading journal at the intersection of health, health care and policy. Previously, he was executive director of the National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP), a nonpartisan research and policy nonprofit. Weil also served as executive director of the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing and was assistant general counsel in the Massachusetts Department of Medical Security. Weil is a frequent speaker on national and state health policy, Medicaid, federalism and implementation of the Affordable Care Act. |

Ira Byock, M.D.
Clinical and Cultural Leadership: A Strategic, Values-based Approach to Transformation Ira Byock, M.D., serves as executive director and chief medical officer for the Institute for Human Caring, Providence Health and Services. In this role Byock advances efforts to measure, monitor and improve whole-person health care systemwide with the goal of accelerating achievement of the triple aim. He is a practicing physician based in Torrance, Calif. and the author of four books. He served as director of palliative medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., and is a leading authority on palliative care and a proponent of quality, patient/family experience and shared decision making. Alastair Humphreys Uber-Bold: Lessons from the Road Alastair Humphreys is a British adventurer, author and blogger. He spent over four years cycling around the world, a journey of 46,000 miles through 60 countries and five continents. More recently Alastair has walked across southern India, trekked across the Empty Quarter, rowed across the Atlantic Ocean, run six marathons through the Sahara desert, completed a crossing of Iceland, and participated in an expedition in the Arctic, close to the magnetic North Pole. Closer to home, Humphreys conducts micro-adventures—shorter challenges such as a 120-mile trek around the London Orbital Motorway—to promote access to the experience of adventure. He was named as one of National Geographic’s Adventurers of the year for 2012. |

The registration fee for each attendee includes education sessions, listed meals, reception and entertainment. Conference Cancellations
Meeting cancellations received in writing by March 18 will be subject to a $50 processing fee. We welcome substitutions. Refunds will not be granted after March 18. Refunds will not be provided for no-shows after the conference.

A special rate of $269 plus applicable fees and taxes per single or double occupancy per night has been arranged for this conference. Your credit card will be charged for one night upon receipt of your reservation. Our room block expires on March 18 or sooner if sold out. Any cancellation received within seven days of the check-in date will not be refunded for the one night deposit. If you need to cancel your hotel reservation, please call HASC first at (213) 538-0737 and we will make every effort to identify a replacement guest to take your reservation. In the event that you arrive late or depart early, the resort will charge your credit card for the total number of nights reserved.

Hospitality Events
HASC requires that all participants refrain from planning hospitality events or activities at any time during the Annual Meeting without HASC’s permission. Planning independent events at any time during the Annual Meeting without the permission of HASC will result in cancellation of the event and forfeiture of any deposits for food and beverage orders. Failure to observe this policy will result in restriction from participating in future events. Competing times are defined as Wednesday, April 13, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Thursday, April 14, 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Friday, April 14, 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Friday, April 15, 7 a.m. to noon.
Private invitational events may be conducted after 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 14. We ask that invitational events be held on site at St. Regis Monarch Beach. Please do not sponsor off site events. Thank you for your cooperation.
