Women in Health Care Leadership Virtual Conference
An online certificate program for women in health care leadership
Overview
The Hospital Association of Southern California (HASC) is proud to partner with UCI Paul Merage School of Business to host its inaugural Women in Health Care Leadership Conference, a unique new certificate program for women in leadership.
While women represent 65 percent of the health care workforce, they are disproportionately underrepresented at leadership and C-Suite levels. External factors contributing to this imbalance may include unconscious gender bias, stereotypes, discrimination, and organizational processes and systems. There are also internal factors relating to confidence, aspirations, ambitions and motivation that may hinder a woman’s advancement to leadership roles.
The Women in Health Care Leadership Conference aims to address many of the internal factors that create barriers for women who currently serve in leadership roles as well as those seeking to advance their careers as leaders. During the two-day conference, attendees will acquire new skills and practical techniques that have real-world application to help chart a way forward.
The conference features UCI distinguished faculty along with executive leadership coaches and C-level executives. UCI Paul Merage School of Business has a longstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion and is the No. 1 business school in the world for percentage of female faculty (Financial Times, 2019). Lively and compelling panels of top female executives and leaders in the health care industry will share their inspirational stories, unique challenges and relate how they overcame resistance. Attendees will also have several opportunities to meet with exhibitors and network with friends and colleagues.
