The first Inland Empire chapter meeting for the Society for Healthcare Improvement Professionals (SHIP) is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 6 at Community Hospital of San Bernardino, 6:30 to 9 p.m. SHIP is a virtual community dedicated to the professional development of performance improvement, Lean and Six Sigma health care professionals from across the country.

SHIP chapters include Los Angeles, Portland and Tennessee. Meetings bring into focus issues in performance improvement and provide an opportunity for attendees and members to network with others interested in the field. The organization is helmed by Jennifer Wortham, president of Institute for Performance Excellence, a performance improvement consulting and training firm for Lean health care professionals and organizations.
