CHA’s one-minute video titled “Become an Advocate,” available at www.ProtectMyER.com, was produced in 2010 as a way to support the statewide effort to build advocates for hospitals in communities throughout California. The video, which features an ER nurse in California who is on the front lines of care every day, is intended for hospital employees and has been updated to reflect California hospitals’ most critical current issues, including health care reform, impact of the recession, growing uninsured, Medi-Cal and Medicare underfunding, ERs under stress, and seismic compliance.
